During his time at Microsoft as Global CMO of the Windows Division, Thom Gruhler saw a gap between marketing spend and marketing ROI. This age-old problem has plagued marketers for years with little to no solution – how to demonstrate the value of marketing.
And now, the answer seems simple – big data.
In 2016, Thom set out to found a consultancy based on a vision: a company that forges the future of business by tapping into big data in a more powerful way.
Marketers by trade, problem solvers by design, he created Fjuri.

THE MAN WITH A PLAN
During the past 20 years, Thom Gruhler has led successful marketing teams and programs for Fortune 500 companies and start-ups, including Microsoft, Verizon, Nestle, General Mills, MasterCard, Chrysler & Chevrolet. Prior to founding Fjuri, he led marketing team for Apps and Services Marketing Group at Microsoft, as well as acting as the Global CMO of Microsoft’s Windows Division. Prior to that, he served as President of McCann New York, overseeing marquee accounts like Verizon. As the Head of Telcom and Technology at McCann Global, he lent his knowledge to multiple clients and offices around the world.
In his free time, he hangs out with his 3 sons, hordes frequent flyer miles, and can often be found perusing pictures of Jay Leno’s car collection. We feel it’s also important to note that in 2017, Thom received the coveted Fjuri award “Hair guy who dresses like he owns a motorcycle but doesn’t.”
